Stage Craft

Our red & white chessboard, painted center stage, represents Richard’s bloody calculations to become king; they are also the featured colors of the Wars of the Roses.  The central chessboard is set atop a skewed black & white chessboard, to signify that the game is rigged, on uneven ground, and that even the ultimate plotter will fall victim to it.
